Our Summer of George

Intro   Travel Log    Thoughts

The Travel Log has been updated.  I know it was pretty far behind, but I'm getting the hang of this, I swear.

The big news is that we moved to Avignon, France!!

We're living in a great little apartment in the center of this beautiful and historic walled city, taking french language classes for 3 hours every day.  Avignon is the city in France which in 1309 became the home of the Roman Catholic Church as Pope Clement V moved the Papacy from Rome to Avignon where it remained for 67 years.  It is also known for its broken bridge, Le Pont D'Avignon, made famous in the French nursuery rhyme "Sur le Pont D'Avignon, on y danse..."  You've heard it before even if you don't realize.  We're having a great time and learning more french every day, even if it is a challenge.  Below are links to slideshows of our life in Provence.
